"A brutish man knoweth not; neither doth a fool understand this. When the wicked spring as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity do flourish; it is that they shall be destroyed for ever: but thou, LORD, art most high for evermore."(Psalms 92:6-8)
Cup of God's Fury
At this point, look closely at that presented below, which God commanded his prophet in earlier times. Then consider how things are going to be in the last days, as things go crazier and crazier upon this earth. Let us consider just the death and devastation which will be occurring. And, in earlier times, the Lord God told his servant the following:
"For thus saith the LORD God of Israel unto me; Take the wine cup of this fury at my hand, and cause all the nations, to whom I send thee, to drink it. And they shall drink, and be moved, and be mad, because of the sword that I will send among them. Then took I the cup at the LORD'S hand, and made all the nations to drink, unto whom the LORD had sent me: to wit, Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah, and the kings thereof ... and all the kings of the north, far and near, one with another, and all the kingdoms of the world, which are upon the face of the earth: and the king of Sheshach shall drink after them.
"Therefore thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Drink ye, and be drunken, and spue, and fall, and rise no more, because of the sword which I will send among you.
"And it shall be, if they refuse to take the cup at thine hand to drink, then shalt thou say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Ye shall certainly drink. For, lo, I begin to bring evil on the city which is called by my name, and should ye be utterly unpunished? Ye shall not be unpunished: for I will call for a sword upon all the inhabitants of the earth, saith the LORD of hosts.
"Therefore prophesy thou against them all these words, and say unto them, The LORD shall roar from on high, and utter his voice from his holy habitation; he shall mightily roar upon his habitation; he shall give a shout, as they that tread the grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth. A noise shall come even to the ends of the earth; for the LORD hath a controversy with the nations, he will plead with all flesh; he will give them that are wicked to the sword, saith the LORD.
"Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Behold, evil shall go forth from nation to nation, and a great whirlwind shall be raised up from the coasts of the earth. And the slain of the LORD shall be at that day from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth: they shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried; they shall be dung upon the ground."(Jeremiah 25:15-18, 26-33)
From Nation to Nation
The above prophesy may be somewhat disconcerting. It declares that evil shall go forth from nation to nation. This situation may be likened to a wildfire in a whirlwind, leaping from one stand of trees to another. It appears that it may be a very powerful force of evil which will overtake this world, which is totally unstoppable until it has run its full course.
The sword, or death and destruction, shall pass through all nations and kingdoms of this world. All the inhabitants of the earth shall be exposed to it. Those that are wicked shall be given to the sword. The death toll shall be utterly staggering.
The prophecy declares that the slain of the Lord shall ultimately be from one end of the earth, all the way to the other end of the earth. Dead bodies will be scattered all over the face of this earth.
Any survivors of this devastation will most likely be in complete shock over that which has just occurred. The dead will not even be lamented. The dead will not be gathered or buried. The dead shall become dung upon the ground.
Dung Upon the Ground
What does the prophecy mean when it states that the dead shall be dung upon the ground. Let us look to the Word of God for an example which is similar to this type of situation, where someone became dung upon the ground and how that actually came about.
It is written: "And of Jezebel also spake the LORD, saying, The dogs shall eat Jezebel by the wall of Jezreel."(I Kings 21:23) Again, it is written: "And the dogs shall eat Jezebel in the portion of Jezreel, and there shall be none to bury her."(II Kings 9:10)
And again, it is written: "And when he [Jehu] was come in, he did eat and drink, and said, Go, see now this cursed woman, and bury her: for she is a king's daughter.
"And they went to bury her: but they found no more of her than the skull, and the feet, and the palms of her hands. Wherefore they came again, and told him.
"And he said, This is the word of the LORD, which he spake by his servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying, In the portion of Jezreel shall dogs eat the flesh of Jezebel: and the carcase of Jezebel shall be as dung upon the face of the field in the portion of Jezreel; so that they shall not say, This is Jezebel."(II Kings 9:34-37)
Not Gathered or Buried
Once again, during the worldwide tribulation, evil shall go forth from nation to nation. There will be an unimaginable amount of killing. The dead human bodies will be scattered virtually over the face of this whole earth.
These dead human bodies will not be gathered or buried, but it appears that they shall be eaten by the dogs and the cats, plus the birds and other beasts. In the end, these eaten ones shall become dung upon the ground. So, let us look further into the Scriptures concerning the nature of this situation where the animal kingdom is involved in "the clean up" of this earth.
Fowls and Beasts
At one point in time, the Lord God commanded his prophet: "And, thou son of man, thus saith the Lord GOD; Speak unto every feathered fowl, and to every beast of the field, Assemble yourselves, and come; gather yourselves on every side to my sacrifice that I do sacrifice for you, even a great sacrifice upon the mountains of Israel, that ye may eat flesh, and drink blood.
"Ye shall eat the flesh of the mighty, and drink the blood of the princes of the earth, of rams, of lambs, and of goats, of bullocks, all of them fatlings of Bashan. And ye shall eat fat till ye be full, and drink blood till ye be drunken, of my sacrifice which I have sacrificed for you.
"Thus ye shall be filled at my table with horses and chariots, with mighty men, and with all men of war, saith the Lord GOD. And I will set my glory among the heathen, and all the heathen shall see my judgment that I have executed, and my hand that I have laid upon them."(Ezekiel 39:17-21)
Again, it is written: "And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God; that ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.
"And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army. And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
"And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh."(Revelation 19:17-21)
The Family Pet Considered
It is time to consider something which is somewhat morbid, yet does fit into the picture of what will be happening at the end of the world. This may be a disturbing subject which most people may prefer not to ever have to consider. Nevertheless, this is real life. This will be reality during the events surrounding the end of the world.
In Part 5 of this series was noted that which appears to have happened during the passover in Egypt, when the LORD slew all the firstborn of Egypt. It appears that spirit-possessed family pets may have been involved, especially the dogs.
So, let us now consider how family pets, like dogs and cats, and possibly other domesticated members of the animal or reptile kingdoms, may respond during the tribulation and time of the end. How may they react toward their living or even potentially injured owners, plus the numerous scattered corpses?
Let us consider a thought. Sometimes when the wolves are howling, a spirit comes over the family dog, causing them to join in with the chorus. Their wild, native side may begin to show. And, looking back in history, it appears that dogs may even have run with or bred with their wild brethren on certain occasions (1)(2). And, it appears that this is happening even today (1).
In the chaos ahead on this earth, when the spirits begin to take control of living beings, the family pet may suddenly begin to act very differently. And now, it is time for a bit of that unpleasant reality. Like their numerous wild brethren, family pets may ultimately be found to be feasting on the numerous dead bodies, yes, those human bodies, which shall be scattered all over the face of this earth.
When it comes right down to it, when it comes to being hungry, there may not be much difference between wild beasts and the many, formerly domesticated beasts, especially at that time when things go crazy. Yes, the formerly domesticated beasts may even form into packs, scavenging and brutally killing even people, as noted on a small scale in the pages linked below. But, after reading the information linked below, there is still more to consider in this situation.
Then there are those dog attacks on other dogs and on much larger animals, even on cattle, in this relatively peaceful time upon this earth. This can be seen in the pages linked below. But, when things go totally "crazy" on this earth, on a large, worldwide scale, it is going to be a very unusual and bloody time. It appears that it will truly become a dog eat dog, or even a dog eat human world.
There is now more to consider. Once-friendly family pets may suddenly be turning on their masters. Family pets may suddenly be attacking their masters. Some family pets may even kill their masters. This phenomenon should not be too hard to comprehend, concerning the time ahead.
It should be noted that some family pets have attacked or killed, or eaten their masters even now, in this relatively calm environment in which we live. Family pets can even form into marauding packs, which kill indiscriminately.

And then, there are those stange and unusual situations, like that noted in the pages linked below. Even some relatively small furry animals, like squirrels, appear to have killed a much larger animal, like a relatively big dog.
But, there is more to the vicious squirrel story. They do not just attack things like dogs. In the pages linked below, it is very clear that they also attack humans, and not just children.
So, what could the numerous packs of squirrels which exist in many places across the face of this earth do in the times ahead, when they suddenly become spirit-possessed and taken over? Could they suddenly start helping in the judgment and destruction of the wicked of this earth?
There is now something to consider. Many humans have fasted, without food, for 40 days or longer without any problems. But, it appears that animals may not necessarily look at things the same way, especially during the events which shall take place during the tribulation and at the end of the world event.
Beyond the Tribulation
The following words were spoken to the prophet Isaiah:
"For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain. And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.
"And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh."(Isaiah 66:22-24)
When considering the words above, it is clear that something new and very unusual will be happening with the carcases of those who have transgressed against God. The passage above speaks about dead bodies, yet their worm shall not die. Even beyond that, their fire shall not be quenched. What does all this mean? Do the Scriptures shed any more light on this matter?
The Lord Jesus Christ spoke the following words concerning those who can not contain themselves, but are addicted to sin:
"And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
"And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
"And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire: where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched."(Mark 9:43-48)
When Christ made the above statements, he had to put all things into the balance. He had to consider the here and now, and then he had to consider eternity. Which one is most important to us today? Are we truly prepared to stand before a righteous God? Are we properly prepared to face eternity? And now, every breath we take brings us one breath closer to eternity.
